Traditional Zafu

This pleated round Zafu cushion traditionally associated with Zen meditation is filled with your choice of buckwheat hulls or kapok.

Heavyweight, 100% cotton fabric – The outer cover is made of twill, often used for pants and overalls. You have a choice between the Economy Version and the Deluxe Version of the zafu. Deluxe versions have removable, washable covers while Economy versions do not.

Measures 14″ diameter by 7″ high. Buckwheat filled model weighs approx. 6 lbs. Kapok filled model weighs approximately 3lbs.

Natural, biodegradable filling – Kapok or buckwheat hull. Kapok, a plant fiber, will not lump or mat like cotton and is more resilient. Kapok provides firm support, while buckwheat hulls conform to the shape of your body. The air pockets between the buckwheat hulls permit airflow to keep you cool.

Adjustable firmness – The zipper under the pleat opposite the handle of the Economy buckwheat-filled cushion allows you to adjust the amount of buckwheat to suit your preference for firmness. The zipper is under the deepest pleat of the Deluxe Zafu insert.
